Still on the search for a small and compact enough computer that fits well to your frequent traveling schedule? The two new Gigabyte’s UMPCs, M700 and M528, which are on the show at CeBIT might be worth a look. The M700 UMPC features a 7″ touchscreen with a resolution of 1024X600. Inside the case is a C7-M VIA CPU at 1.2Ghz, 2GB of RAM. And you have options either going for a 40 or 60GB of HDD (1.8GHz). And this guy runs Windows Vista Home Premium as the OS.

The M528 runs Linux as the operating system. It’s powered by a Centrino Atom CPU at 800MHz, 512MB of RAM and a 4GB SSD. It has a screen size of 4.8 inch only, which is a LCD touchscreen having 800×480 of resolution.

This little guy is equipped with 3.5G/HSDPA wireless connectivity which is a must for those who’re always on the road. It also features a 3Mpix camera, GPS, Bluetooth and a keyboard. Both are nice devices but the price and availability are still unknown.

DELL Inspiron 13

This laptop is only available in Pacific Blue. The laptop has some similar custumization options as the Inspiron 15 and Inspiron 14, but it has a slot-load DVD drive which cannot be upgraded to a Blu-ray Disc drive.

The laptop has a Intel Pentium Dual Core T4200 processor (up to Intel Core 2 Duo T8300). There is a 3GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 RAM (up to 4GB, same type of RAM). The starting 4-cell Lithium Ion battery can be upgraded to 6-cell or 9-cell. Like the Inspiron 15 and Inspiron 14, the Inspiron 13 has a Intel GMA X3100, but it can be upgraded to a 128MB Nvidia GeForce 8400M GS. There is a optional Built-in Bluetooth EDR 2.0 capability for $20. The laptop includes a Dell Wireless 1395 802.11g Mini-card, which can be upgraded to a Dell Wireless 1505 Wireless 802.11n Mini-card.

Dell XPS 625 Desktop PC

The Dell XPS 625 is a strong Phenom II-based desktop PC, but if you're willing to spend an extra hundred bucks or so, you can get even more for your money.

Although the chip used here is the multiplier-unlocked Black Edition of the processor, Dell has chosen not to overclock the CPU one iota past its 3.0-GHz stock speed. That hurt the XPS 625 in a few benchmarks, which I'll address in a bit. Four gigabytes of DDR2-800 RAM run on a motherboard that sports AMD's 790x chip set. That isn't the highest memory clock the processor can support; it could support DDR2-1066, too, but we rarely see that on machines at this price point.
